'GUEST HOSTING' ON "GOOD COMPANY"

It's always a good time when I get the opportunity to guest-host on WKYC Channel 3's GOOD COMPANY. I love doing TV with Andrea Vecchio, Fred Griffith and the entire crew from the show. I know I have no business hosting cooking segments and I sweat too much...but it's always an hour-long adventure I look forward to..
Hosting the cooking segment with AMP 150 Chef Ellis Cooley. "We" made sweet potatoe pierogis...I think I "drizzled" a lil too much....

Producer Claire, Me, Andrea Vecchio and Fred Griffith on the set of "GOOD COMPANY". Everyone on the crew is so kind and fun. I appreciate the opportunity and I always leave laughin' to myself...The hot lights get me every time...nothing like sweating in HD..... : )

CLEVELAND'S WINTERFEST 2009

It was awesome having a front row seat at this year's WinterFest in downtown Cleveland Saturday night. Both Rebecca and I hosted the event for the first time ever and loved every minute of it! It was a great night of music, fireworks and good times....
My wife Susan and daughter Gabby joined me for a photo-op right after the show.
The official Christmas tree lighting included lighting the top of The Terminal Tower....

RANDOM WEEKEND THOUGHTS...

What an exciting day today! I'm honored to be hosting two very special events on the same day. Early this afternoon, I'll be in Alliance, Ohio introducing the Governor at an event honoring troops who are being deployed across the globe. I have so much respect for the men and women of the military and I'm blessed to be apart of such a special day.
Early this evening, I'll be in downtown Cleveland co-hosting WinterFest '09. Rebecca Wilde and I have been asked to MC this spectacular event for the first time and we are thrilled to do so. We'll be introducing Mayor Frank Jackson and helping to light the tree in the heart of the city. I've attended this event several times and I'm excited to be hosting it for the first time ever!

Birthday week has officially begun. I'll turn 42 this upcoming Thursday, December 3. The week between Thanksgiving and my birthday is always such an emotional time for me personally. I tend to get quiet and reflective. For as long as I can remember, I've always naturally taken this time to look back on the year and set personal goals for the year ahead. This year, my head is very full.

Some of you have dropped me notes asking how my friend and daughter's GodMother Denise is doing. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer the same week that same disease took her mother's life. She was unable to attend her own mother's funeral because of her surgery. She is back home now and the doctors say they got all of it. The journey has begun. Chemo starts soon. I travelled to Michigan to see her and her family this past weekend. It was one of the most powerful times of my life. It put so much into perspective. She is an amazing lady and deserves our prayers.

be@peace.

TURKEY BOWL 2009

TURKEY BOWL 2009 took place on the not-so-frozen Sagamore Hills tundra early Thanksgiving morning. My daughter Gabby (#37 above) and me (#27 below), took to the field with high hopes, but found ourselves on the losing end of a 35-28 outcome. As we like to say in Cleveland..."Next year...." : )

OHIO STATE AT Michigan

I attended the Ohio State-Michigan game at Ann Arbor on Saturday afternoon. 110,000 people showed up to see The Buckeyes beat Michigan for the 6th straight time by a score of 21-10.

RANDOM iPHONE SNAPSHOTS...

I was invited to attend a private performance and dinner with SARAH DARLING at The Foundation Room of House of Blues this past week. She is a singer/songwriter out of Iowa/Nashville. She has a great voice and gave a wonderful peformance. You will be hearing more from her in the future.
I took a snapshot of my 5th grade daughter's artwork from this week. I love how colorful it is! This is definately frameable!

I went on the road to see The CAVS play at Indiana on Friday night. I snapped this pic of Lebron James during the game. The Cavs won.

The Conseco Fieldhouse is a beautiful arena. Some say it's the best arena in The NBA!

The Wild Beaver Saloon is in Indianapolis and across the street from where the Pacers played the Cavs. It's a great little bar.

MEETING A LEGEND...

I had the chance to meet BROWNS legend JIM BROWN at a press conference before the OUR LADY OF THE WAYSIDE luncheon on Tuesday afternoon.....I think the Browns could use him right about now..

MY DAUGHTER MEETS HER IDOL...

My daughter Gabby was more than thrilled to meet her idol MICHAEL SYMON. She loves watching him on The FOOD NETWORK and recently had the chance to eat at his restaurant LOLITA. We caught up with him on the set of GOOD COMPANY on WKYC Channel 3 yesterday...

MEETING MILEY CYRUS

I had a chance to sit down and talk with MILEY CYRUS after her soundcheck Sunday afternoon at The "Q". For 16-years-old, she was well spoken and a very good interview. She was authentic and seemed genuine with her answers. I was surprised that we were not given any rules on what we could and couldn't ask. It was anything goes and she seemed very comfortable. Watching her talk with her crew, fans and back-up singers/dancers, she was like any other teenage girl. She was pleasant and confident.
My daughter GABBY was all smiles when she met MILEY

MILEY does "THE CLIMB" part of the encore.

MILEY high above The "Q" on a motorcyle singn' "I LOVE ROCK 'N ROLL".

"METCALF UP THE MIDDLE!!!"

Former BROWN'S star ERIC METCALF stopped by the show Monday morning to talk about the BROWNS on Monday Night Football. He predicted the Ravens would win 24-13. Very cool, down-to-earth guy. I really enjoyed our time with him.

THE FABULOUS FOOD SHOW WITH GUY FIERI

The chefs on The Food Network really are rock stars! Both Guy Fieri and Cleveland's Michael Symon drew HUGE crwods at The IX Center on Saturday. The Wilde and Fee Show was on stage for ALL of Guy Fieri's show. What a great guy and an awesome experience!
Backstage with Guy Fieri before the show

I sat just a few feet away from Guy when he started lighting things on fire!

It's not a real chef's outfit unless it has a skull on it : )

IMAGES OF CLEVELAND

The Cleveland skyline from West Bank of The Flats
View from The Hope Memorial Bridge

FRANKLIN CASTLE is scary even in the middle of the day.

THE PARKVIEW

There's a reason The Parkview in Cleveland was featured on The Food Network; it's THAT GOOD! I love going there for lunch...I stopped by yesterday with a few friends and enjoyed...
....The Spicey Tacos..... AND.....
....The Cuban....

Since their appearance on DINERS, DRIVE-INS and DIVES, The Parkview has enjoyed bigger crowds and people from all over who want to check it out. It's one of Cleveland's best-kept dining secrets....

Station photo shoot pix....

Every few months, we update station promo pictures for www.Q104.com. We do individual shots and Wilde and Fee pix. The process reminds me that I'm the least photogenic person on the staff and that I need to spend more time on the treadmill.....I do like how the above pic turned out. I'm gonna use this for a FaceBook profile pic and on my website as well. Note: My arms were NOT torn off for this picture : )
The Wilde and Fee Show
...gettin' lots of "Back To The Future" jokes with the vest.....
They tell me that the "L" thing is some kinda "GLEE" thing...I think the joke is on me : )

THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS

"The Men Who Stare At Goats" could have been a lot better movie...but it really didn't need to be. It is entertaining enough. George Clooney is just that cool. Every time I see one of his movies, it feels like he is wingin' it and mocking the movie making process. It's like he drops into making a movie and rolls with it. The movie opened this past week to mixed reviews. Some say it starts strong but comedically lags. Considering it's only an hour and a half, it's not long enough to "lag". I laughed. I was entertained. I went home. I still wanna be George Clooney.
