NEW DEAL AT Q104!

I signed a new 3-year deal at Q104 this morning. CBS Senior VP Chris Maduri and Q104 Program Director Dave “Skippy” Popovich were on hand for the contract signing. They both give us a lot of freedom to do our show and offer us plenty of support along the way. I am so blessed to have such an awesome job and to work with such great people.

I’ve been hosting the show for over 5 years and I love every minute of it! Working with Rebecca, Glenn and Producer Nick is a roller coaster every morning and I wouldn’t trade the adventure for anything!

I joined the staff at Q104 almost 9 years ago as an off-air program director and later joined the show as a fill-in person until we could find a replacement for Danny Czekalinski who left for Florida. Almost a year later, Chris Maduri brought in "Skippy" as Program Director and made me the permanent host of the show. That move changed my life for the better! It afforded me the opportunity to focus soley on the show and build a stronger chemistry with everyone on the show.

I admit, it was a rough start getting back on the air after being off the air for 7 years. I was more than rusty and the audience knew it. Over time, the show has grown and built an awesome fan base with very strong ratings. Our show's success is based on the success of every unique personality on the show. Everyone has a role to play and it blends into a show each morning. Some days are better than others, but overall, I'm very proud to work alongside this crew and look forward to keeping it together for many more years to come.

Doing this job each day is a gift. Thank you to everyone at CBS, the staff at Q104, the staff of The Wilde & Fee Show and YOU for giving your time each morning. After a great Spring ratings period, I can’t thank you enough for such a great opportunity.
Let’s keep it rollin’ for another three years and beyond…..

SPENNATO'S GOLF OUTING AT ASTORHURST

Wednesday's SPENNATO'S Golf Outing at Astorhurst Country Club was washed out by rain after just seven holes of play. Our group was rollin' at 4-under par before the weather postponed the event. After a rough couple of weeks on the course, I was able to chip in for birdie to end my curse from The Golf Gods.
Despite not being able to complete the round, we had a total blast on the course. I played with Northfield City Councilman Chuck Lewis, BIG BOB and Kerry. We laughed a lot and played pretty well. We had even more fun at the after-party at SPENNATO'S in Northfield. "G" and his crew make incredible food and really know how to have a good time!
Above is a view from the 8th tee box at Astorhurst Country Club. Its an awesome hole that requires a great drive off of a cliff....

On our way back to the clubhouse, we passed a rain-soaked 9th green. It reminded me of that scene in Caddyshack where they played on in the rain.

RANDOM SNAPSHOTS...

A last minute Friday night invite to THE CLEVELAND CLINIC HEARTHROB BALL lead to a last minute tux rental and scramble to the event...
KENNY LOGGINS was the musical guest at the event. He sounded great! I've seen him a few times and I'm always impressed with how good he is. It's easy to forget how many great songs he actually has.

I stopped by the Mayfield BONEYARD to check out DISCO INFERNO. They are always a good time! The crowd is always into the music and the guys in the band are super cool!

THE COUNTDOWN TO "LIVE" CONTINUES...

I can't begin to tell you how much I'm looking forward to seeing "LIVE" at House of Blues this Saturday night. They are, by far, my favorite band and I never miss a chance to see them. I'm thrilled they are playing a club like HOB. The last few times I have seen them, they have been outdoor shows in the daylight...
I snapped this pic of the jumbotron at PNC Park in Pittsburgh when the band played after a Pirates game....it wasn't the best place to see the band...
This pic was snapped two summers ago when "LIVE" played at Eastlake Stadium with Counting Crows and Collective Soul. They put on an awesome show that night.

I snapped this pic at a free outdoor show at The University of Pittsburgh. It was an afternoon show in the rain. The band sounded great! It was awesome seeing "Lightening Crashes" in a rainstorm...
As I continue to ramp up for this weekend's "LIVE" show, I found this awesome version of "Stood up for Love"...check it out http://www.lyrics.com/lyrics/live/they-stood-up-for-love.html

PURE JOY!

My daughter GABBY this week in Valley City

THE 'NORTH COURSE" AT FIRESTONE

I never miss an opportunity to play golf at FIRESTONE COUNTRY CLUB. The three courses there are amazing and it really is a wonderful experience. Yesterday, I played in THE BRUCE BASKIN CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT to fight cystic fibrosis. Bruce is the brother of my friend ANDY BASKIN who does sports for NEWSCHANNEL 5. I can't tell you how much I appreciate being able to be apart of this very special event. They are such good people and the golf is world class. Playing The South Course is always a treat at FIRESTONE because it's the course where the tournaments are played. The North Course, however, it's possibly the better course. The views are spectacular! Every hole feels like a postcard.

LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS

I threw out the first pitch at The LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS game this past week. Despite throwin' the pitch toward the opposing team's dugout, I had a blast at the game. It was a perfect night for baseball and the stadium is awesome. I'll definately be back this season to Avon for a few games.

THROWIN' OUT THE FIRST PITCH...

I have to admit, I am thrilled to be tossin' out the first pitch at The Lake Erie Crushers game Friday night in Avon. I'm a huge baseball fan and love checkin' out minor league ballparks. I stopped by the ballpark today to pick up a ballcap and team pullover for the big moment. Yes, I know, I'm like a little kid about it...but that's what baseball is all about.... I'm not sure if it will matter much to anyone else, but for me, it's one of those lil life moments that I will totally embrace.

BIKIN' TO PENINSULA!

Biking season is well underway and it's about time! I love biking The Towpath to Peninsula. It's an awesome ride with spectacular scenery. This week, I biked twenty miles down to Peninsula and later knocked out a quick 11 mile ride later in the week. I plan to put together several longer rides this summer.

MOOSEHEAD in Olmstead Falls

I had a chance to check out MOOSEHEAD in Olmstead Falls this week. What a great restaurant, bar and patio. The patio is new and has a spectacular view! After just one visit, it has become a favorite place to hang out. I can't wait to go back.

MONDAY MORNING RANDOMS...

SARAH PALIN; Next President or Food Network Star? I think it would be awesome if she hosted an action packed show on Food Network. She could open each show shooting shooting wild animals from a helicopter and cookin' 'em up on a giant spit. Wild boar, moose, elk...maybe even Sasquach? Celebrity guests could stop by the show to help during the hunt. First guest suggestion; DICK CHENEY.

Is it better for Eric Wedge if the Indians fire him or make him endure the whole season?

Is it basketball season yet?

MICHAEL JACKSON's family is treating his death like an event rather than the passing of a family member. I find it sad that the priority is to get face time on TV rather than to mourn as a family.

Fireworks at INDEPENDENCE were good...seemed a lil shorter than year's past...the economy perhaps?

Played golf at SUGARBUSH near Hiram on The Fourth of July...awesome course...played well...

Feelin' energized this week..lots of biking and more golf ahead...

IT'S A SHAQ ATTACK!!

WEEK IN REVIEW...

Despite being a short week, I found myself rollin' non-stop this week both on and off the air. I'm looking forward to the time off this weekend to get some rest and re-load for the week ahead...
CLEVELAND BROWNS star JOSH CRIBBS and New Orleans Saints star DARNELL JACKSON stopped by the show this week to chat football and about BOUNCE CITY. I always enjoy their visits because they are always fun and very honest about what's goin' on with the Browns.

GOLF. I'm very happy with the amount of golf I have been able to play so far this season. I've played SLEEPY HOLLOW, AVON OAKS, SHAWNEE HILLS, RACCOON HILL, BRIARWOOD,ELLSWORTH, VALLAIRE, CANTERBURY and I finally broke 100 at FIRESTONE this past week! I was lucky enough to play in The United Way Pro/Am and loved every minute of it. It was a crazy round of golf with lots of "fortunate bounces"...but after failing in my first four attempts, I finally broke 100 there! I love that golf course and feel very blessed to be able to play there from time to time.

This is the approach shot on the famous 16th hole at Firestone. Afer a big tee shot, awesome second shot...I plunked my approach in the water....my goal is to someday par the hole...

I spent FATHER'S DAY at WRIGLEY FIELD watching the TRIBE implode against The CUBS. Watching from a rooftop was an awesome life experience.

On Wednesday, I played golf at SHAWNEE HILLS near my home. Although I like the golf course, it's often a very slow round of golf there. I shot my best score so far this season (94) that day. My hope is to get my scores down into the 80's where they belong.

COLLECTIVE SOUL stopped by the show and later played at HOUSE OF BLUES. Great to see ED ROLAND and the boys again. I love the band and feel they deserve much more credit than they get. They have 7 number one records and still sound great! I follow the band on TWITTER and even dropped TWEETS throughout the entire show..

I saw THE FRAY in concert for the first time this week. They played outside at TOWER CITY on Wednesday night. I like their music a lot and was very surprised how good they were in concert. I loved it! PATRICIA HEATON was spotted at the show that night.
RANDOMS...
I want to wish the best of luck to GLENN from the show when he gets his hair surgery this weekend. I know he's excited. He deserves success.
My new contract is coming together. Should have it all worked out this week. I love my job and apprciate the opportunity to work with some very good people who are very talented.
SHAQ will provide our show with lots of material..is it basketball season yet??
Just a couple more weeks until "LIVE" plays HOB...can't wait!!!
I want to wish REBECCA a safe trip while she's out of the country on vacation.
