On Friday's during our show, we invite listeners to come be a part of our live audience for "FESTIVE FRIDAY". This morning, local artist Merchelle Carlozzi stopped by with some Wilde & Fee artwork for our studio. I like it, because I look thinner, Rebecca liked it because her new hair-do was free, Glenn liked it because he actually had hair and Producer Nick liked it because everyone on the show appears happy all at the same time! LOL. We loved the pic so much, we put it up on our www.Q104.com website and have it framed in the studio!

CAPTAIN JIM'S IN SALTON CITY, CALIFORNIA
While visiting my parents for my Dad's 80th birthday, I had the pleasure of hangin' out at their favorite bar CAPTAIN JIM's. The bar, out in the middle of the desert, is the most happenin' place for miles...and miles.....and miles.....
CAPTAIN JIM's wheels.....
The jumbo pitcher can cure a desert thirst and improve your dart game.....
RICHARD and I "entertained" the "crowd" with our version of "Friends in Low Places" on Kereoke Saturday night. They do it every Saturday night 7-11pm. I later went on to sing Garth Brooks "The Dance" and I did a duet with "DOC" of "Loveshack" by the B-52's. When my Dad joined in on a duet of Bette Midler's "From a Distance"..it was time to head for the exit....
DAD TURNS 80!
My Dad turned "double -40" this week. To the man who puts an olive, salt and sometimes even tomato juice in his beer, I must pay tribute. I can only hope to have his energy and sense of humor when I turn 80.
His party on Saturday, January 24th was a who's who of Salton City, California. From Miss Salton Sea to Richard, the top Kereoke man in the desert. Gordon, a local artist was there with a painting of my father throwin' a dart up at CAPTAIN JIM's to mark the milestone. Jaki, the local postmaster was there...she's a dear friend to my parents. Carl, who is one of the best fisherman in the region for AMERICAN TUNA was there with his bride Bonnie....I even scored a couple cans of tuna to take home...To some, it may have looked like the making of "COCOON 3"...to me, it was the most rockin' party I've been to in quite some time. I'm very proud to be my parents son and blessed to have been there for my Dad's 80th. My parents and their friends are a great reminder to live your life. Sometimes, it's just the simple things and surrounding yourself with great friends. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

PARAGLIDING FLY-IN...
While visiting my parents this past week near Palm Springs, California, we were all treated to an airshow of paragliders who held their annual fly-in within a mile of my parents house. Dozens of paragliders made the trip and put on an awesome arial display. It was amazing to watch as the motorized parachutes and other contraptions filled the sky and put on quite a show!

2009 IS UNDERWAY.....
I love the energy of a brand new year! It's a fresh start. A chance to hit the ground running with new ideas and momentum. Despite the media's dismal portrayal of 2008, I found it to be a reflective year with plenty to learn from. I look forward to 2009 and feel more than equipped with the lessons from the previous year.
The real challenge, as it often has been, is health and fitness. On today's show, we talked a lot about weight loss and diet. The conversation was inspired by OPRAH's anger and disappointment in her own struggle with weight. It amazes me how much we/I complicate the process. There are all kinds of fancy diets and plans. But ultimately, it always comes down to diet and exercize. Don't eat so much and be more active, and you will lose weight. It's not a lack of knowledge, it's a lack of action.
It's so easy to get caught up with socally eating and drinking and putting off getting on track. There's always a holiday, an event.....an excuse.....
I totally relate to what OPRAH said on her show yesterday. I'm angry that I have never fully conquered the battle of the bulge. It's not a lack of knowlege, it's not consistently making the choice to do something about it. As I begin the new year, it's gotta be about smarter choices and being more active. As motivational speaker TONY ROBBINS says, it's all about taking MASSIVE ACTION. It's a new year...why not this year?
THE RANDOMS.....
The movie THE SPIRIT is not a great movie, but it's fun to watch. It's visually fun with lots of eye candy.
Adam Sandler's BEDTIME STORIES was much better than I thought. Great family movie.
THE BROWNS need to be smarter about hiring coaches and GM's. They already seem to be getting ahead of themselves. Why not take all the time you can to make sure you get it right...this time.
OSU should have lost to TEXAS. The Longhorns are a better team. The Buckeyes should be proud that they played a tight game against a very good team.
Big test for The Cavs Friday night. The game against the Celtics should feel like a play-off game. Time for LeBRON and the boys to make a statement.
Special thanks to MARCHELLE for the fun pic! I love it. The fake Allan looks better than the real one : )
